    Hello,
I really tried to figure this out on my own before posting but I’m a bit stumped. I have a handful of categories, all of them but 2 generate a list for me when I use the TOC shortcode. I’ve tried typing it in and using the button to generate the code.

I’m linking screen shots, I would link you to the site but “maintenance mode” is turned on so it won’t let you view the pages unless logged in.

Here’s my list of categories, as you can see all categories have pages.
    sc1.png

Here’s my code (at least the top part) for my Table of Contents page (Not “TOC” page, which does exist and is just a series of Wiki Links to the different pages that contain their own contents). As you can see, I’m using text labels then underneath the Yada Wiki shortcodes with the intention of giving me a list of pages under that category.

And finally, this screen shot is what it displays.
    sc3.png

The TOC at the top shows up correctly, but the first 2 categories under it don’t populate a list of pages. However the other categories work just fine. I don’t see any obvious problems in the shortcode I’m using, am I missing a step?

    Hi rasoulezzat,

Sorry you are having trouble. Do you have categories called “Figures by Character” and “Figures by Country”, or are those the titles of pages? When you choose to output the category, it will output the wiki pages tagged with that category. Hope that helps.

    Best regards,

    David

Yes, as you can see in my first screen shot (sc1.png) that I do in fact have both of those as Category names. I also noticed, my category “Promotional Items” is not populating as well, although the others are working just fine.

I can also mention, on all of those categories I do have a page named the same thing. For example the category Prototypes also has a page name Prototypes. However Prototypes is one of the TOC shortcodes working properly. But the others are matching.

I have a main “TOC” page that just has bullet points of all my Categories. You can see it displayed at the top of the “Table Of Contents” page in the screenshot (sc3.png) and you can see the code I used to put it there in sc2.png. The links in the “TOC” page go to separate individual pages named the same thing as the category names. For example, you click on Prototypes, it goes to a page called “Prototypes” with nothing but the shortcode to display all the pages in the category.

Both the individual pages of “Figures by Character” and “Figures by Country” are blank as well, it’s not just the “Table of Contents” code and page screenshots I attached above. It was just simpler to show that page since it gave examples of some shortcodes working and some not.

    I’m using WordPress 4.4.2

OK. I’ll take a look and let you know what I find.

    Hi rasoulezzat,

I was able to recreate the problem you were having by renaming some categories. The renamed categories no longer would output when using the TOC shortcode and choosing a category. I don’t know if you renamed any or not, but this caused me to look into how I was getting the list of wiki pages by category and I found that I was not using the recommended method. So, you found a bug and I appreciate your good communication and persistence.

I pushed a new version of the plugin, version 2.6.3. From within WordPress you should be able to go to the Dashboard, and under Dashboard there is an updates menu item. Clicking on that should trigger an update check and allow you to download the new version. Please try it out and let me know if that fixes the problem.

Best regards and sorry for your trouble,

    David

Wow, that was fast! Works perfect. Thank you for the update. Makes me feel a lot better about being stumped, especially since my question previous to this one ended up being not only easy to figure out but very well documented already. ??

Yeah, I know the feeling. It is nice to know you aren’t crazy. ??
