shortcut recent posts doesn't exclude category

    I have a shortcut to post recent posts with,
    It goes like this

    [recent_posts layout=”default” columns=”1″ number_posts=”2″ cat_slug=”” exclude_cats= “” thumbnail=”no” title=”yes” meta=”yes” excerpt=”no” excerpt_words=”0″ strip_html=”yes”][/recent_posts]

    but when I put a number to exclude a category, It doesn’t work. Can someone help me with this?

    Plus! NOT A MUST! But it’d be better If I could choose the category I want the posts to be shown of. The other way I’d have to exlude categorys when I create a new one each time.
    BUT I’d be already glad if you could help me with my first problem!
