Is there a way to limit the number of words syndicated on a post..

For example not importing the entire article but limit to 100 words and possibly add to continue reading click here?

You can use the “Shorten post excerpts” option or you can modify your theme (the index page template) do do this for you.

If you want to insert <!–more–> after some specified amount of words or do it somehow else, you should consider CyberSEO Pro, which can do such tricks just easily.

When I do “Shorten post excerpts” it still imports the entire post. Any clue why that might be?

Looks like Pro is the soon to be option…

That’s because only excerpts (aka post descriptions) will be shortened (as the option name says), the full-text posts won’t be shortened.

Does Pro allow you to shorten full text post?

The Pro version can do anything with your posts. I mean all imaginable manipulations on content, excerpt, title, tags, categories, taxonomies etc are possible. Just note than when you are shortening a HTML text, you may break its internal structure (I mean the HTML tags). So the only safe way to do so is to convert HTML into a raw text and when shorten it. The Pro version allows to do such tricks just easily.

You can always ask your questions on the official support forum. That’s the best way to be sure that your question won’t be missed.
