Anyone else ever have an issue with shortening of URLs after W3 Total Cache has been installed? I am getting the following error at the top of my dashboard after I make a change to this caching plugin.

There's been an error shortening your URL! Visit your WP to Twitter settings page to get more information and to clear this error message.

I also clicked the “Clear the WP-to-Twitter Errors” button to dismiss the following message:

The query to the URL shortener API failed, and your URL was not shrunk. The full post URL was attached to your Tweet. Check with your URL shortening provider to see if there are any known issues.

But it will keep coming back. I have tried Goo.gl and WordPress as the shortners and they both cause this error. This was not a problem before the W3 Cache plugin…

    Thoughts?

This is the first I’ve heard of this, but I’ll investigate it. I can’t think of a reason that W3 Cache would have that result, but it’s not something I’ve specifically tested with, so I’ll find out.
