Yes, this is a great plugin, an excellent idea. It’s helped me solve a problem in some themes I like but would not be able to use because they force a header onto the site using the featured image. At the same time, themes will force the featured image into the top of an excerpt, the width of the post. Sometimes, I like that, it’s just what I need. Other times, I can’t get rid of it, but I still want the header.
Unique Header solves that problem. I simply don’t upload a featured image at all, I directly upload a header, and install on my specific post with Unique Header, so the header image matches the content of the post. I’m using Unique Header to match the header photo of each cactus plant to the post discussing that plant.
I think this plugin would be a big help to people with commercial sites, to let them match the product they are selling to the page it’s on.
