    Hello everyone,
I installed Woocommerce plugin and it automatically created some pages for me. I want to create my own shop page through elementor. But the thing is that the /shop slug is occupied by Woocommerce page. Should I delete the current shop page if I want to use the /shop for my elementor page? What’s the best way to go about this?

  • Hello,

WooCommerce creates new pages upon installation, but you can change them by reselecting what pages to use. For the shop page, please navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Products, and choose the page you’ve created using Elementor. You do not need to delete the current shop page.

You can read more about WooCommerce pages here:

Ok I understand. But the shop page that woocommerce made is using the link /shop. I want to make a shop using the same link. Would I need to delete the existing shop page in that case? If I made another page using Elementor, I would have to name it /shop-1 which is not ideal.

    Hi there!

You could change the slug of the default WooCommerce shop page to /shop-alt/ so that you can use the /shop/ slug on the new page built with Elementor.

The default shop page URL is still used at other places, for example, the Back to shop button when the cart is empty. So I’d suggest not deleting it. You could add a redirect from /shop-alt/ to /shop/.

It might be also possible to keep the default Shop page with /shop/ slug and still design it using Elementor – In this case, I’d suggest checking with Elementor support.

    I hope this helps! ??

I just found out that I can make a shop page using Elementor and then after saving it set the condition where to display the Elementor page. So there was this option to display it on Product Archive. In the end I won’t need to delete the WC shop page.

The default shop page URL is still used at other places

Thanks for letting me know this. I would’ve messed up if I didn’t know what I was doing.
