  • Should I edit header hight?or the Menu part?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Note that the Verge theme hasn’t been updated in years. I wouldn’t start a new website with such an outdated (and likely abandoned) theme. https://www.ads-software.com/themes/verge/

    Thank you for your commands.
In fact, I am a new for this job. There are many rules in our company…well, hard to explain.

Anyway, if you link to the websit I offered before.

There is different between the 2 web on the logo parts.
The first on , the logo part or head part, is higher.
And the second, the words under the logo are overlapping and the height is short.
I just wonder what make this difference.

    Thanks for the further explanation.

I just wonder what make this difference.

I can observe three differences between the two sites:

    1) The old site does not show the Site title and Tagline at all, whereas the new site is showing these right below the logo. You can disable this on the new site by going to APPEARANCE => CUSTOMIZE => SITE IDENTITY and checking the “Hide Title and Tagline” box.

    2) The old site has more menu items (7) and the menu does not fit on the same row on the right of the logo. So the menu has dropped down. If you look closely, the menu is still aligned to the right, but it’s on a second row below the logo, therefore increasing the height of the header section.

    3) The old site is using large 100px x 100px images/icons on top of the menu items. Again, this increases the height of the header area. It’s using the plugin “Menu Image” for this: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/menu-image/

All these three differences add up to make the header of the OLD site have a much bigger height than the new site.

Below you’ll see I’ve tried to replicate the top section of the old site by adding the three differences I mentioned above to my own test site.
