    Hi there,
Lately, I’m trying to configure my W3 Total Cache for better performance.
I didn’t enable Database Cache in the past, as I followed this guide on themeisle. It implicates that Database Cache and Object Cache may hog server resource and therefore it’s not recommended to enable the features.

However, I would rather confirm with people who contribute to this wonderful plugin to help me understand how these 2 features (Database Cache and Object Cache) work and whether it is safe to use on a shared hosting server.

    Hello @no249a002,

Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to answer.
Database cache caches the results of common database queries to enhance performance, and Object Cache caches the results of complex database queries to reduce server load. For example, a simple search on your website performs a full search on your WordPress database. A query like that can be cached for faster results
The usage of those to combined may sometimes hog server resources so it depends on a use case.
It’s recommended to use Object cache, without DB cache enabled or vice versa. You should test this to see what works best for your environment.
