Should I give him an admin role?

    Hello,

    I have hired an overseas web-developer who will work on my theme and edit my css stuff.

    What role should I give him – an editor’s role or an admin role?

    I initially gave him an editor’s role but realized he cannot edit the theme with it.

    Theme development (and plugin but I digress) should be performed away from your live or production installation of WordPress. If that’s what is needed then an admin account on your real blog would be too much IMHO.

    The developer can provide you the theme in a zip file and explain how to save your old theme and upload the updated or modified one.
