Should I have done multi site?

  • Hello,
    I have wordpress installed at my main URL
    https://www.example.com
    But there’s another theme’s real estate features I want to incorporate into my main site, so I installed the new theme at https://www.example.com/new/
    And I hired a programmer to integrade the /new/ theme to fit with my main URL theme.

    Should this have been multi site install?
    What are the negative consequences if I keep it the way it is?
