Should I ignore my parent category?

  • Hi,

    I have created a few categories and sub categories in my site. Every time I publish an article, I only select a sub category and Ignore the parent category. Should I do this? Is it Okay? Or should I select parent category too?

    Anyways, my posts are still displayed on the main category page. So, should I actually select it or just ignore it? I kinda like the way that my article shows only one category in the by line. But I also want to confirm that this practice is OKAY.

  • This should be fine to do, sometimes creating articles under the sub category will end up showing you articles under parent category as duplicates.

    If you are not experiencing issues then you should be good!
