Should I internally link product pages to category pages

    Hi. I am new to SEO but wanted to check something with the experts. I know that in WooComerce the category archive page pulls all the associated products into it. So in my case all coffee machines are shown on the coffee machine category page.

    Is there any SEO benefit from placing a link on each product page to the category page to boost the category page in the rankings?

    Thank you Michael.. that helped because it is clear now that category pages are more important than product pages.

    If anyone can advise if a dedicated link to the category page from the product page will help give the category page more status…please let me know!

    Hi,

    If you’ve properly defined your site structure by making sure that your products are assigned to the appropriate product category pages, areas such as the breadcrumbs and menu navigation should help link from the individual product pages back to the product category pages – https://yoast.com/site-structure-the-ultimate-guide/

    As for whether inserting anchored text links in the content of the product page that link back to the product category page, it shouldn’t detract or hinder your overall site structure as long as it makes sense to link to based on how you’ve added content to your product page.
