Should I move my wordpress folder to the root ?

    I haven’t bought any domain name yet, and when I installed wordpress, i created a folder named “wp” so now my website homepage URL is like this :

    https://myWebHost/wp/

    I will soon buy a domain name, Do I need to move all my wordpress file from the folder “wp” to the root ?
    Can I just make my futur domain name pointing to https://myWebHost/wp/ ?

    So when someone in the futur will go to myDomain.com he will land on my old https://myWebHost/wp/

    Is this possible ? Can I avoid the unnecessary stress to move all my wordpress folder to the root ?
