• I run a WordPress site with around 10 different authors. Each of these authors has an archive page which lists their contributions. Currently, these are indexed by Google and appear in the SERPs. Should I noindex, follow these pages?

Advice generally seems to be to do this for author archives – but I’m confuses as to whether this advice is really for single-author sites?

    What do you think?

  • Does it really matter if the pages are indexed? I’d prefer to have the pages indexed as this provides more pages for my sote as well as some good internal linking. The only possible downside is if there’s a link to the authors own site, but the only reason to worry about that is if you’re way to paranoid about leaking Page Rank (which you shouldn’t be worrying about) to the authors own sites. In most cases having the links ot the external pages like that is good for your authors and having a little “bonus” extra like that can make it a better proposition for them to stick around and contribute to your site.
