Should I remove Texturize?

    I’ve tried searching for information about Texturize, but I can only found really outdated stuff and unsresolved issues. My issue is this: I hate curly quotes. I went into default-filters.php and commented out all of the references to Texturize at the beginning. Is that bad? I can live without em dashes and such, but will I break anything by not using Texturize at all?

    Also, is there a plugin/guide for editing Texturize to remove specific features, so that I can kill the smart quotes and keep the other formatting?
