Should Manageable update timestamp?

I think I was the one who suggested it (at least I asked about it on your comments).

I suggested it because I think timestamp keeps track of changes to the post content, not it’s data anda meta-data (tags, title, slug, author, date, etc.)…

I agree with JLCarneiro.

When you set up a site organization, you try a lot of different things.

And as order by date is currently, unfortunately, the quasi inflexible sorting method in WordPress…

JLCarneiro, I see what your saying. I’m just trying to weigh the pros and cons of each situation.

WP 2.6 also brings up the issue of revisions. Currently a new revision is saved each time a post is edited with Manageable. I can see how in some cases this would be desirable, but some not. I’m using core WP functions to make all the edits so this is how they have it setup.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

aaron, I understand. Personally, I disabled revisions “feature”, it was putting garbage in my db…

About your plugin, I think changing dates only when wanted is the right way to go. But it is up to you… ??

Man, I had no idea that plugin existed. It’s pretty extensive. I’m probably a bit biased, but I think I like my UI better. If you’re having to edit lots of data his requires a few more clicks. It does give me some ideas for improvement though.

Hi aaron_guitar, I’d like to vote in favor of NOT updating the timestamp. In my case, I have a many contributors to my site, and when I receive a pending review, if I make any changes to their metadata it updates the timestamp and thus —if i leave and refresh later or log on somewhere else to continue reviewing pending posts— it moves the posts to the bottom of the list, though they might have been next in queue.
