• Hi,

Thank you for a great plugin.

    I have two questions:

1: I would like to show all categories from the beginning like this

But when visitors click the page from ‘most viewed’ they only get first category because ‘/?catletter’ is missing from the link. How can I show all categories at once?

2: I am optimizing Javascripts, – which .js are you using to ‘unfold’ links in the categorys, in other words , which .js should be excluded from compression?

    Thanks,

    Lars

    1. Can you export your library options and send them to me? I am unsure of what configuration combination is causing this behaviour? you can export your settings from the Import / Export tab of library settings.

    2. The javascript for the unfolding is not in a separate js file. It is inline in the page content.

1: Thanks – I hope this is what you need?

    2: OK, thanks.

Ah, now I see. Here is the problem:

In the Common tab of Library Settings, you configured “Display Alphabetic Cat filter” to “Before Categories”. That being said, you are not displaying a list of categories on your site before the links (using the [link-library-cats] shortcode). So you are not seeing the alphabetic category filter, but still getting the effects of it.

If you set “Display alphabetic cat filter” to “Do not display”, you will see all categories. Please give this a try and see if it resolves your issue and please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.

    Hello Yannick,

Thanks for your help – I followed your advice and all of my categories are now showing from front end.

Btw – how big are the largest libraries built with your plugin? I use it for a history teacher association – and we can find a zillion links on many subjects – what is the limit?

There is really no limit to how large a libraries can be. That being said, if you display all links from all categories on one page, you may eventually find that this page takes a long time to display as your library grows.

This is where there are tools like being to display a single library at a time or pagination to split results onto multiple pages, to help split links into more manageable chunks to display.
