Show all tags/taxonomy terms in custom post editor

  • Right now when you’re adding tags to a post, previously used tags will show up as you type, or you can show a list of the most popular ones.

    Is there any way to just have it automatically show a list of ALL tags, and allow me to choose from that list? I would need it to apply to custom taxonomies in custom post types as well.

    Is there a plugin out there like this?

    No, but I think one workaround would be to have a custom hierarchical taxonomy, which would act like categories, and the list would appear. Right?
