Show All(past event in Categories)

Are you talking about the main /categories/ page (listing the category links) or the actual individual category pages themselves?

have you tried placeholder #_CATEGORYALLEVENTS or #_CATEGORYPASTEVENTS at Settings > Formatting > Event Categories

I tried that, entering it in the ‘Default events list format’ under Settings > Formatting > Events Categories

Still no content.
