Show cell when hovering?

    Hi Tobias,

    I’m sure this question has been already answered but I can’t find it.

    Let’s say I have a table with one row. Then, if you hover your mouse over the column 2, a cell (or two, or three…) appears below that. Not a row, but just one cell (or two cells, one on top of the other).

    I guess it is possible with some JQuery commands, but I know nothing about that or about programming.

    Could you enlighten me, please?

    thanks for your question.

    This sounds as if you want to build a menu with a table? I wouldn’t really recommend this, and I don’t have a solution for this, unfortunately.
    You should consider more modern HTML structures and try this with some CSS then.

    Thanks for your quick answer.

    Yes, it’s like a menu. Trouble is that every menu has links to specific posts, so it’s difficult to implement a .css or .html solution.

    I thought you gave other users some jquery code for these kind of problems involving hidden cells and/or rows. That’s why I asked this.

    In fact, it is possible to have hiddden cells and show them when hovering, right?

    Hi,

    the problem here is that it’s not really possible in a table to just show/hide certain cells. That would break the table structure.

    I really don’t recommend a table for this. Also, you won’t need to use a menu from WordPress (via the Menu feature in the admin area), but you can create custom HTML/CSS.
