Show certain categories in my category widget and on pages

    I want to only show certain categories in my category widget in the right side bar – or exclude certain categories, which ever way is easiest

    And, I want to be able to do this per page also. So I want showcase template page 1 to show category 1 and 2, and have another page show category 3 and 4.

    I’ve tried a few things in the existing posts on this forum, without success… It seems like this should be a straightforward feature to modify but I can’t figure it out…

    Any pointers would be much appreciated.
