Show Chatbot on selected Pages and minimize on all other Pages/Posts?

    I’d like to use the chatbot on our homepage – but could you please implement a function “show on selected posts/pages and minimize on all other posts/pages”?

    Because I think as of now the option “show only on selected pages” is for the user confusing – say I show the chatbot on the landing page and in a response I tell the user to view a certain post / the user looks at that post and the chatbot disappears / I think that’s very confusing – I’d like it better if the chatbot is shown minimized instead disappearing completely.

    So now I have only the option “show on all pages” and that is also not very user-friendly / because on a smaller screen – for instance a notebook – the user looks at the post I recommended in the chatbot-response and the first thing he has to do is to minimize the chatbot because otherwise he cannot read the complete post.

    Also I think the option “Chat Box Minimized by Default” is not really working because I created a chatbot which offers a greeting-message on “welcome” ( = before the user inputs anything) and although I check that option the chatbot is NOT shown minimized on start-up.

    But “minimized by default” on all pages is not really an option also, because I want to show the chatbot on the landing-page NOT minimized (because most users won’t use it if it is “minimized by default”) but on other pages it should be “minimized, but NOT completely invisible”.

    I hope you can implement such an option – thank you very much (I want to use that chatbot as soon as possible)

    Hi Erich,

    Thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. Currently, the minimized setting only controls how the chat box appears on the first page of your website that the user visits. After that, the chat box will preserve its minimized state between different pages.

    However, we will take your points into consideration and may add a setting which can prevent the chat bot from preserving state between pages, in addition to a page-specific “Minimized” setting.

    Hi,

    In the latest version of the plugin, you can force the chat box to start minimized on certain pages by adding “?chat_min=true” to the end of the URL (without quotes). This way, when you add a link to a page in your chatbot message, you can simply modify the URL so that the chat box minimizes when the user clicks it. You can also force the chat box to start maximized by adding “?chat_min=false”.
