Show comic title on home page

I would like the comic title to appear in the home page. I know this can be done using a widget over the comic to show the title, but that displays the title with a link. Is there a way to display just the title only?

You mean like a regular post? Comics are custom post type so you may change the query to call them on homepage https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-add-custom-post-types-to-your-home-page-and-feeds/ https://www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/custom-post-types-home-page/.
Do you want the title of your comic series to appear on top of the home page or the title of the episode?
(The first is easy: Just use a text widget and customize it any way you want. The second… not quite as easy because you need to extract the title somehow.)
