    Hi Robin

That is possible but you would need to modify your theme page to move the category description call in the theme.

It’s not something that can be done with this plugin.

If you can not modify the theme files then some suggests – totally untested and just throwing ideas out into the ether – is to look at using ajax or may be even playing around with css and position attributes.

Best way though is to mod your theme category or archive file to move the category description call.

    Hi Kevin,

most big ecommerce sites place content on category pages (above and below the products). As I know they do this to improve SEO (more relevant text/content for Google ranking), SEM (more relevat keywords for lower click prices) and higher conversions through interesting category landing pages.

Here is an example: https://www.zalando.de/schuhe/ or https://www.zappos.com/bags

Now what I would like to achive is to show on block of content above and one block of content below the products on category pages. Although, I have no idea how to do it yet (even after extensive googling). I wonder why this issue is not more present in the WooCommerce community.

    Best,
    Robin

    Hi Robin

If you know a bit of coding and know you way around wordpress then that is easily done.

Just set up a custom field for your category and call that in your theme file.

Have a look at some of the custom field plugins to see if you can do it that way or put in the question at the support forums tagged custom field.

It should not be too hard to accomplish but I don’t have the time this side of Christmas to give any detailed help, sorry

    Hi Robin

I’ve just done an update to the plugin that will allow you to have two category descriptions – 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.

You will need to add a bit of code to your category template file to call the output but it is pretty basic.

    hope it helps

    Hi Kevin,

thank you so much for the update and the support, even though the plugin is for free!

This is how this works for my template:
    https://pbrd.co/1eqFiiy

I would like to move the “Top Content” area down, under the woocommerce products in a category. Now you have suggested that I can call them in my category template, which might be this one: https://pastebin.com/gHrWxhmD

You said, it’s pretty basic but I guess not for me ?? Anyway, I don’t know how achieve my plan. It would be wonderful if you could help me to get this done. Also I would like to donate something for the dev of this free plugin.

    Thanks
    Robin

    Hi Robin

Sorry I can not help you with this as it is a WooCommerce issue.

My plugin has no effect on woocmmerce categories as products are a custom post type which is not covered by my plugin.

    Try contacting them for support.

    thanks
    Kevin
