Show date based arhcives of just ONE category.

    Hi, firstly I am aware wp_get_archives can’t deal with categories. Basically i have my home page displaying JUST category 1. As i have other pages displaying different categories. However on my sidebar I have a dropdown which uses wp_get_archives to display a date based arhcive of all of the blog posts. I want it to ONLY display posts from blog one, obviously using a different function to call it.

    I have installed the recent posts plugin but don’t know how to achieve it using this.

    please help!
