Show Exact SKU First

  • Hello!

    This is the plugin I have been looking for for MONTHS! So far it is working great. The biggest issue I’ve been finding with other plugins is that the dropdown results and the search results page do not match…which boggles my mind.

    My question – is there a way to make exact SKU #’s that are searched to show up first? For example, when I search “38-100” this is the order of products that show up “38-100-S, 38-100MRT, 38-100, …” I was hoping that the 38-100 would be the first results to show, and not the third. I have “Show exact matches only?” selected, but that didn’t seem to change anything. Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you very much for your kind words, I really appreciate it!

    In order to have the same results on the results page, you have to enable the results override option on the General Options -> Logic & Behavior panel first, and also make sure that the WooCommerce results page is choosen: https://i.imgur.com/cPSGebc.png

    As for the ordering: By default the plugin tries to order them by relevance first, then by date descending by second. However this applies to the item title, not other fields. In the pro version there is a possibility to order them by a custom field value (like _sku) as well, the free version does not have this feature unfortunately.
    You could however try different orderings on the General Options -> Ordering panel: https://i.imgur.com/Bk7eRzb.png
    It is possible that some combination might give you the exact order you are looking for, or at least something closer for your needs.

    I got the same results working – the ease of that fix is great through the plugin!

    I changed the ordering like you mentioned and that didn’t fix the issue. I think I may need to purchase the plugin to get the sku searchable.

    Is there a refund policy on your plugin by chance, incase it doesn’t end up ordering the sku’s properly?
