Show excerpt with featured image to the right on archive page

  • Hello,
    I am creating a website for a customer (not yet live) with a child theme of Twenty-thirteen.
    I would like to
    (1) see on the archive category page first page – full length, then – only excerpts;
    (2) see on the blog page not the full posts but the excerpts;
    (3) have the featured image to the right of the excerpt.
    I have found a tutorial guiding to change the <?php the_content(); ?> in archive.php, category.php and index.php – but there are no such lines there.
    Can you please guide me what to change?

    I meant – full first post, of course.
    The first category post may be sticky, then it is to be full length.
    Can someone help, please?
