show full content, not excerpt

I know there are many users who have asked this same questions but their solutions don’t seem to be working for me. I have the free version of WordPress and use the theme Button. Currently only excerpts show up on my home page. I’d like to switch that to show full content.

I know many have suggested going in and accessing the php or index file.
(I’m clueless about that! I know nothing about code.)

Also, I seem to be missing the “Editor” option under “Appearances” which from the searching I’ve done, seems to be where you would access the php file.

Hopefully that made a little bit of sense! If you have any solution for me, I would so appreciate it! Usually after enough hours of research I can figure things out — but this has stumped me!
