Show full post instead of excerpt?

Edit the index.php template file and replace <?php the_excerpt();?> with <?php the_content();?>.

But, I only want it to show the full content on a couple of pages. On the rest of them, I still want to show the excerpts.

Also, the index.php file has nothing in it, it just says to load the header, content, sidebar, and footer.

The “content” should include the Loop – which is where you’ll find the code I referred to above. And index.php is the template for your front page – assuming you have set to show your latest posts in Setting->Reading.
