At the back end, I get these error messages:

Thanks John. I just changed PHP version from 8.0 to 7.3 it seems no error message now. But the short code is not working either: [netsposts column=’2′ column_width=’500′ titles_only=’true’]

I have trouble finding your documentation explaining how to use the short codes. Could you please point me a direction?

    Hi @brisbanebighead

    The tutorial is here.
    https://agaveplugins.com/agave-plugin/multisite/network-posts-extended/

Thanks for the heads up on the php. I’ll test that as soon as possible.

Yes columns no longer works. Must use css. Explain the look you want and I’ll create some css code.

John, Thanks for the link and help. I have now tried [netsposts] only, and nothing comes out.

Are your sites listed as public or private?

I updated all my sites to PHP 8.1.4 and are all working fine. I will not be able to help you further until you grant me access or have you deactivate all plugins except for Network Posts Extended and see if the errors still persist.

    Thank You

Thanks John. I’ll try that and report back. Cheers

I have tired to deactivate all plugins except NPE, it still shows nothing.

I don’t know where to set private/public, all my sites are open to the public. People can visit them.

Okay the only way for me to help is to login and double check all shortcodes. What language is your site?

@johnzenausa It’s late but I’ve archived your reply and flagged your account.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.

If somebody else needs help may I link them to this comment?

@johnzenausa If someone needs your help, I recommend doing your best to help them here using the recommendations above.

I’ve supported a number of plugins for several years (one of those with a popular shortcode module), and I have never needed to log in to a user’s site. It does require changing the way you think about troubleshooting, but it’s not too difficult, and it won’t leave you (and us for facilitating it) open to liability concerns.

These are public forums, so you are of course welcome to link to the comment if you feel you must.
