Wasn’t sure how to title this one.

I have some menu items that have a level 4 underneath them. I only want to show up to level 2 in my side navigation. But if a user clicks on an item with a level 4, I want it to show only the level 3 parent and level 4 siblings. Does that make sense?

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I could make 2 different modules and assign accordingly, but I have almost 200 pages and would prefer to not do that.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Shawn.
I think what you’re asking for is a sort of two-scenario case, as in : if current item is in the menu show this set of items; if it’s not, then show this other set of (possibly) completely different items.

Unfortunately, CWM does not currently provide that dual-scenario functionality … although I must admit that I have started looking into it. I have 2 possibilities :
    a. create a new Standby section, which has limited filters and only comes into effect when the main Filters fail to return any items, or
    b. create a specific Current Item sub-section within the main Filters section.
Both approaches add further complexity to the settings, which I’m not sure that CMW (or more specifically, it’s users) can take, and neither is currently particularly clear in terms of what it provides or when it provides it. If I can keep it logical and ergonomically sound then I’ll seriously consider adding it, but I haven’t made my mind up yet.
    Sorry.

Thanks for the info. Maybe you can help me a little more here.

So I have created a separate widget that I assign to pages that shows level 4 items. When I click on one, all that shows on the page is the item I clicked on. So, is there a way to show on the level pages, the same menu that is on the level three pages without making another widget?

This probably all goes back to the what you were saying above…

Never mind. I just noticed the Fallbacks section. That made it do exactly what I needed.

    Awesome plugin, btw!
