show “local pickup” with “calculate shipping”

    Users wanting local pickup find it difficult to get to the “local pickup” checkbox especially if they are on the phone. They have to Press Calculate shipping, then answer questions in 4 dropdowns/textboxes (country, state, town, zip) before the Local Pickup checkbox appears. My preference would be for “local pickup” to appear with “calculate shipping”. I have tried various combinations of changing default customer location, Enable the shipping calculator on the cart page, Hide shipping costs until an address is entered and hiding state, town, zip in functions.php all to no avail. Is there a way to allow the customer to click local pickup or postage at the cart page?

    At the moment, there’s no default option for that in WooCommerce, and setting that as the default would require quite a bit of additional coding. Please kindly note that this requires some custom coding – which goes beyond the scope of support we are able to provide in this forum.
