• Hello ??

I’ve searched a lot and maybe I didn’t search for the right terms, but I don’t think that I am the only one with the following “problem”.

    I have a site with a top-menu which shows only the top-level-categories.

I just wanted to have a menu in my sidebar which shows only the choosen top-level-category with the appropriate second-level-categories.

Does anybody have a solution for this? I thought that it could be possible to do it with wp_list_categories and “child_of” but how can I find out the top-level category of a post?

And how can I put a link to only this top-level-category above this list of second-level-categories?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!!

    kind regards from Vienna

    Andreas.
