    Hello!

I love this plugin and use it a lot in my shop. I have a request/question regarding the woocommerce product carousel feature.

In my shop i have a main slider that displays the “Latest Products”. I set the query to filter by “Recent Products” and order by “Date” published.

The problem in my shop is that the stock constantly changes fast and sometimes it ends up going to 0. But we do restock quickly.

When item stock goes to 0 it gets removed from the carousel! But, i still want to display it on the “Latest Products” carousel so my customers know this is a new arrival regardless of the stock.

The problem is that it appears there is no way to make the query include items with stock that has gone to 0, or maybe i am missing something.

Is there a way to achieve this and have the query show the most recent product additions regardless of the stock?

    Thanks in advance!

Please see the screencast here: https://d.pr/v/TpcXX8

Let me know how it goes on your end.

    Thank you

    Hello once again!

I am very happy that the feature got implemented in such a little time even!

But right now it doesn’t seem to work for me as i see it working in the screencast.

You mentioned using the latest version, right now i use the Version 6.0.7 which does seem to be the latest in the WordPress repositories as well.

Is the new version not pushed yet or perhaps there is something im missing?

I followed the screencast’s example setup but items with stock set to 0 still do not appear.

Is it a must that back-orders should be disabled? Or perhaps does the item have to be in stock in some point in time and then lowered by an actual order?

If that’s the case the implementation still might not cover brick & mortar stores like in my case where the items do get lowered manually but we also allow back-orders since as i said stock comes and goes ??

Any idea what could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @kuhakuneko

Thank you for reaching out again, and I’m glad to hear you were happy with the quick implementation!

Regarding the issue you’re experiencing, I can confirm that the latest version of the plugin should support both scenarios you’re referring to. Specifically, you should be able to display products with a stock of 0 regardless of whether backorders are enabled or not. I tested two setups myself:

    1. Backorders Enabled: The carousel still shows products, even if they are out of stock, as long as the backorders option is on.
    2. Products Initially Out of Stock: I also tested items that started out of stock from the beginning and did not require actual orders to reduce the stock level. These too appeared in the carousel without any issues.

      See the screencast here: https://d.pr/v/whWGGK

If you’ve followed the setup in the screencast and it’s still not working for you, there might be a few things worth checking:

Can you please check for plugin conflicts by following this:?

Make a backup of your website: Before making any changes to your website, it is essential to make a backup of your site. This will allow you to restore your website to its original state if anything goes wrong during the testing process.

Disable all plugins: Temporarily deactivate all plugins on your website except Essential Addons and Elementor. Simply go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to wp-admin => Plugins, and then deactivate other plugins. After deactivating all plugins, check if the issue still persists. If the issue goes away, then a plugin conflict is likely.

Enable plugins one by one: Reactivate your plugins one by one, checking the website after each activation to see if the issue reappears. This will help you identify the plugin(s) causing the conflict.

Besides, you can switch to a different theme like Hello Elementor, Flexia, or Twenty Twenty Three. and check back as well.
It could also be a compatibility issue with other plugins or your theme. I’d be happy to assist further in troubleshooting this if needed. Please reach out to us here !

Thanks again for your patience, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hello once again!

I did disable all my plugins and set the theme to Twenty Twenty-Four to make sure there are no conflicts. I even created a second, brand new slider like the example but no out of stock items to be seen unfortunately. (I did create new out of stock test items so they are first to appear chronologically)

I once again followed the screencast’s example but this time i was able to spot that you use both the pro and the free versions of the Essential Addons.

Was this detail implemented only for the users of the pro plugin perhaps?

I didn’t open a ticket since i wouldn’t want to take more of your time if that’s the case.

I found out what the issue was after all!

It turned out WooCommerce has a feature for “Out of stock visibility” in the Products tab of the settings under the Inventory category. It was turned on as to “Hide out of stock items from the catalog”. I turned it off and everything is fine.

Thanks for your time and for adding this useful feature! The problem is resolved.
