• Hi WordPress Support,

    I’ve been looking around the web for the best way to show the popular posts on a website without affecting too much the server performance.
    For what i’ve seen the best ways were:
    – using Jetpack and fetch de CSV and use it on a query;
    – using ajax post views ( no idea how this works );
    – adding views to post meta data;

    I only want to show the popular posts for the last 24 hours, but i don’t want to kill the server with this ( adding post views to the database kills the server ). The website i want to use this have good traffic but i want to know your expert opinion on this matter.

  • If you install Jetpack plugin then that has a most popular posts and pages widget which you can add to your siderbar/footer. In the widget it says:

    Top Posts & Pages by views are calculated from 24-48 hours of stats. They take a while to change.

    I use a premium theme myself (Avada) which has it’s own version of this. Have a look at my blog to see if that is what you are after.

    Thanks for the input, but i was looking for an expert opinion.
