Show post excerpts on aggregate/landing site

  • I have just started an aggregate site to list recent posts on my other three sites, all www.ads-software.com and under the Jetpack umbrella.

    What is the best way to show post summaries and thumbnail as content?

    I also have a Ghost site and I would like to pick up its posts as well, but I realise I might have to work at that a bit, and I might not find help here!

    For now I would welcome advice as how to go forward with listing posts on my 3 www.ads-software.com sites.

  • If your landing page is WordPress-based you might try using the Feed WordPress plugin there and import the RSS or Atom feeds you’ll want the companion plugin to limit the size of posts also and your Ghost-based site produces an RSS feed that the Feed WordPress will accept.

    I have installed FeedWordPress by Charles Johnson and attempted to enter my feeds using the form, e.g.

    https://glowweobley.com/feed

    These feeds exist. The Ghost one is called /rss rather t han /feed.

    However the plugin doesn’t recognise any of them, generating the error

    https://believethegoodnews.com/ is invalid XML, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: SYSTEM or PUBLIC, the URI is missing at line 1, column 51

    I have also tried FeedWordPress and I get a similar problem with the feed not being recognised.

    So for one of my sites — this is a Genesis site — https://glowweobley.com

    I enter the feed URL as https://glowsweobley.com/feed

    if I try that on a new tab it brings up the feed as far as I can tell

    Where am I going wrong?
