Show posts in archive without posts in child categories

    I would think that this would be easy but I have not been able to find the answers.

    Section A
    — Section AA
    Section B
    — Section BB

    If I select section B I am having all the posts from section B & BB show up. I would like it to be just section B.

    I do not want to go in and hard code the category IDs into a query post. I would like to just put a line that only shows the one category no matter what so if another user adds a new category/subcategory I would not need to go update the template.
