    Hello!

My website uses WooCommerce Stripe Gateway. We accept payments both for memberships and for event tickets. When viewing Stripe reports, is displaying

    a) what kind of product the user purchased, e.g., Georgia event ticket, Florida event ticket, annual membership, lifetime membership;

    and

    b) a rates column that could show what each different ticket rate meant, e.g., student, military, industry, possible?

Also, if this isn’t the right support forum, please let me know.

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

Sorry, but it is not clear to me, are you referring to a report that is on your Stripe Dashboard?

If you are referring to add a feature request, you can add your ideas on our Feature Request Section, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

    Cheers.

    Hello Igor,

Yes, I am referring to a report from the Stripe dashboard. Given that Stripe connects to WooCommerce, I wondered if I could change settings within WooCommerce in WordPress to feed the desired data to Stripe.

    Is this possible?

    Hi @elahwyhw23

If I understand correctly, you want to customize the data that’s displayed in your Stripe dashboard reports for sales processed through the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway.

Stripe reports are created by Stripe based on the payment data that flows from WooCommerce to Stripe. When you receive payment through Stripe on your WooCommerce store, the purchase data is passed to Stripe along with the payment information. Then, Stripe generates reports and provides analytics based on that data.

Regarding your specific question, WooCommerce sends the product name to Stripe in the description field. Stripe doesn’t have the ability to parse that data any further, so individual items or variations of a product will not show up as separate line items.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi, Amir,

Yes! That is correct; I want to customize the Stripe reports in just that way.

Does WooCommerce allow me to add information in any way so that Stripe can receive information about product variations?

    Hello @elahwyhw23,

Does WooCommerce allow me to add information in any way so that Stripe can receive information about product variations?

This requires customizations which I’m afraid is not within our scope of support.

I found this guide on how to add metadata to the transaction in Stripe, it’s very detailed and has multiple examples so I suggest you check it out: https://zeropointdevelopment.com/how-to-add-custom-metadata-to-woocommerce-stripe-purchase/

That said, I doubt that will help in customizing the Stripe reports. You may want to get in touch with Stripe’s support to confirm.

If you’re looking to review the sale data, you can check the built-in WooCommerce Analytics tool: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/

Please let us know if you have any other questions. :?)

    Hi,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Best.

    Hi, Saif & Igor,

I’m sorry for my late response. Thank you very much for the resources! I haven’t found a complete solution to my questions, but viewing orders under the Analytics tab is a partial solution. ??

For any WordPress user who might have similar questions in the future, my path to view orders in WooCommerce is in the WP admin dashboard > Analytics > Orders.

I haven’t tried adding custom metadata yet.

    Hi,

I am glad to know you found a word-around.

The original inquiry?would require customization that goes beyond this forum’s?scope of support. Please consult our Woo-vetted experts here:?WooCommerce Customizations Page if you need further assistance.

    Kind regards.

    Hello!
Thank you very much. Am I correct that support for this plugin, WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, is the same as support on WooCommerce .com > Get Support?
