Show published date if there’s no updated date

  • Google only shows the first (or only) date they can find on your page. So in order to get the updated date displayed in search results, you have to disable the published date and only show the updated date. This works fine for updated posts.

    But, for posts that you didn’t update at all – there’s no date at all. So is there a way to disable the “published” date in the post meta for all posts, except those that haven’t been updated at all?
