Show sponsor logos within footer

Hi,

I want to show a series of site sponsor’s logos within the footer of the site I’m developing.

Since the site is designed for someone else to maintain, they need to be able to add/delete the logos within the admin area.

Some of the logos may need to link to an external website.

Does anyone have any ideas or links to plugins that could do this.

I’ve tried many different gallery plugins, but they seem to be designed to be added to posts and not embedded within template files.
Also they tend to create thumbnails that link to larger images, but I don’t need that functionality since the logos are small to begin with.
