  • Hi pjotterke,

So you’re saying that subcategories with no products in them are appearing in your sidebar? If so, could you send us the link to your website’s product catalogue page?

yes, and also with when i choose another main catagory, the sub categories that are not for that main category are shown.

    Hi pjotterke,

It works the same for categories, sub-categories, tags and custom fields. If there are no items in the catalogue that are in a specific category or sub-category, then that category or sub-category will not show in the sidebar. So, if it is for you, something is conflicting or you actually do have items in that sub-category. Could you please send us a link to your site and let us know which sub-category has no items in it, but is still showing in the sidebar?

    this is the link:
when i choose “krachtopnemers” then not all subcat’s stay active.

i hope you understand what i mean.

    Hi pjotterke,

If you go to Options->Basic and scroll down to “Hide Empty Filtering Options”, what is it set as?

If it’s set to “No”, can you change it to “Yes”?

    Thread Starter pjotterke

    (@pjotterke)

i think it stands on Yes, (ducht languege) so that’s not the solution.

Then we don’t understand what your issue is. If you have that set to “Yes”, then, when you click on a category, it will hide the sub-categories from other categories. Is this not what you want?

    (@pjotterke)

check the website i have given to you earlier, you see that that’s not working.

    Hi pjotterke ,

    1) If you switch to another theme (like WordPress’ “Twenty Seventeen” theme), is there any change then?

    2) If that didn’t make a difference, could you try disabling all non-Product catalogue plugins and test. If it works then, reenable the plugins one by one (this will help show us if there’s a plugin conflict).

    3) If suggestions #1 and #2 didn’t change anything: Could you send us a screenshot of your “Basic” settings page?

    Options 1 and 2 didn’t work.

    Hi pjotterke,

What version of the Ultimate Product Catalogue plugin are you using? To check this, click “Plugins” in the left side wordpress menu and locate “Product Catalog” in the list.

We’re asking because it appears that you’re missing some options from your Basic settings (including “Hide Empty Filtering Options”), so if you’re using an version below 4.3.11, we suggest you update the plugin.

NOTE: If you’ve made custom changes to the plugin code, then you may want to download the folder in wp-content/plugins/ultimate-product-catalogue (through an FTP connection or via your cpanel). This way, if changes get overridden with the update, you’ll at least have a copy of the code locally.
