Looking at the instructions you can use the something like the following
[catlist id=1 numberposts=1 pagination=no excerpt=no thumbnail=yes ]
[catlist id=1 numberposts=4 pagination=yes excerpt=no ]
That should show the title and image of the first post then just show the titles of the following 4 posts…
Hope that helps a little, there’s quiet a lot of options. If you want to add some text to the first one use :
[catlist id=1 numberposts=1 pagination=no excerpt=no thumbnail=yes excerpt=yes excerpt_strip=no excerpt_size=100 thumbnail=yes]
That will use an excerpt from the article including any html styling cutting it off at 100 characters. There’s an option for thumbnail size too if you wanted.
