Show topics but Hide replies

    Hello,

    Though question about a client request: We would like for people on some groups to only see the topics inside the forum, but can’t see the replies.

    Currently there is the option to set a group to only ‘Only view topics/replies’. The idea is to have another option to ‘only view topics’.

    Is that feasible?

    I’ve just taken a quick look – that is surprisingly hard to do !

    in many places bbpress assumes a topic is just in effect the first reply, so trapping and stopping replies would involve rewriting various templates, and template scan be overwritten by other plugins, meaning that replies could be exposed by other plugins.

    Or, could you create something that would add the bbprivate groups a user is in as a body class?

    Then I could add something like:

    .bbprivategroupNAME a.bbp-topic-permalink {
    pointer-events: none;
    }

    That would be a way
