    I’ve used quite a number of Styled Themes but I’ve never had such difficulty putting a header image in before. I’ve searched this support section and tried everything that has been said and either my header image doesn’t show up at all, or it shows up full width but only about 1/5th the height, or (if I use meta slider) it shows up too small to fit the width of the slider or doubled (one too small and one full size).

    Why should I need to add a widget (possibly even install a new plugin) simply to add header? It seems counter intuitive.

    Can you help me to add my header?

  • Hi Kate… start with this tutorial:

    Header Background

    The design of this theme uses the WP header as the background to allow a widget to use for actual images, sliders, or banners (this offers more flexibility).

    As a side note, the WP Header is not really meant to be a slider or anything that is a showcase based image, it was previously create for the older method of WordPress themes to put an image behind the site title. Different themes use the WP Header for different things, but for this one, I used it as a background for the banner area because the WP header is a global (shown every page) feature and figured this will be better used as a background for the banner area which can be an image or even a solid colour only.

    OK, I followed the tutorial (had done it before) and it shows my picture’s height cropped (I did NOT crop it). My picture is 2555 x 499.

    I don’t want a slider, I want one static image on every page. I just tried the meta slider because I tried everything else, and it didn’t work either.

    I’m really at a loss on how to fix this. I’m sure it is something little that I’m missing but can’t for the life of me figure out what it is.

    If you want one static image for all pages, then you can simply upload an image to your media library, grab the File URL, then drag a text widget into the Banner Wide position and add the img tag:

    <img src="your file url" alt="short description"/>

    That will show on all pages.

    You could even try image plugins if you prefer…one to try
