on line 19, try to replace this code

$hero_posts_args = array(
            'posts_per_page'      => 4,
            'ignore_sticky_posts' => true
        );

with

$hero_posts_args = array(
            'posts_per_page'      => 4,
            'ignore_sticky_posts' => true,
            'post_type'  => "case-study"
        );

and see if it solves your problem.
