Question for ya there… Anytime I do a new post or even update a post and it goes to my twitter account all looks fine with the url ex: mysite.com/page/ however any time I update a certain older post that was done in like 2007 it is showing the link like this mysite.com/?p=605 when it tweets now that page goes to the right real page but I have no idea why it is grabbing the page id instead of the url mysite.com/page/. Any ideas on how to fix? Deleting the page and redoing it is not an option as it has 100’s of comments on it and I do not want to lose the user comments if I delete the posting and redo it.

    Your help is appreciated.

It might be that you have a stored short URL for WP to Twitter with that post. You can go into your database using a tool like Adminer and search for post meta fields on the post ID 605 in the post_meta table. If there’s a short URL stored for WP to Twitter, it’ll use that URL instead of re-checking the URL; you can delete it without any problems and next time, WP to Twitter will grab a new URL.
