From what I can tell, the first part of freo4cup’s suggestion will work (setting the number of posts), but the second part will not work for what funfelt is asking, because it will only change the way that a post’s syndicated feeds will display — it won’t change the way that really long posts themselves are displayed.

Thanks, that did work for getting it to only show one post, but not for showing an excerpt or summary on the blog main page itself. Any other ideas?

Also is there any kind of plugin or setting people can use to have a post open up in its own window for making it more printer-friendly? That sure would be handy.
