Showing the Tools menus

    Hi,

    Tools menu is protected with ‘edit_posts’ user capability.

    Hi,

    I have that capability enabled, yet the user is still unable to see the tools menu. Here are the selected capabilities for the moderator user type: https://i.imgur.com/f8URs1Z.jpg

    Hi Mike,

    I made a quick test – added ‘edit_posts’ to the ‘subsciber’ role. Tools menu was appeared for user with ‘subscriber’ role after login. So just 3 caps is enough: edit_posts, read, level_0.

    I suppose that some other plugin may block this menu item at your case.
    Try to deactivate all plugins temporally and test.

    I have been unable to track down the cause of my problems. This doesn’t work for me, but I have found a suitable alternative, so I don’t need to keep chasing this down.
