Showing up wrong website

    Hello,

    I had registered cricketizm.wordpress.com blog. Later I registered domain cricketizm.in I mapped the domain with my wordpress blog with wordpress nameservers. And it was working fine.
    Later I took hosting from hostgator and installed WordPress 3.4.1 on my website. Started running the wordpress blog.
    Problem started after few days.
    To explain you lets say

    domain mapped with wordpress name server is old site
    domain mapped with my webhost nameserver is my website

    When i type url of my website (https://www.cricketizm.in) some time it shows old site.
    My friend suggested if I delete my blog (cricketizm.wordpress.com) hosted on wordpress old website will not show up. But now my site is not showing at all.
    Repeatedly tracert is pointing to wordpress IP.

    What should I do now?

  • You need to point your domain name to your self-hosted site via your domain registrars. Bear in mind that it can take up to 72 hours for domain name changes to propagate fully.

    Hello esmi,

    I’ve checked that with my webhost, nameservers are pointing properly to their servers. Nameservers change has been done a month ago still st times it shows my (old site)* and now after deleting the blog, as expected it is giving error that cricketizm.wordpress.com is no longer available.

    I’ve checked the entries at https://intodns.com/cricketizm.in that is showing correct name servers along with
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    can you please give me solution?

    I didn’t get you what exactly you want to say…
    Did you mean who is my webhost?

    What ever I understood from few search is, this is not the issue of WordPress. I need to contact my webhost to point nameservers correctly, right?

    Hello All,

    I’ve again get in touch with my webhost, and now finally they have removed the wordpress nameserver entries from DNS zone.

    Issue resolved
