Shows on page load but not on click

I’m using WP3.5.1 and Popup version 0.3.1.
When I create a widget, I can get it to display the popup by selecting the ‘Auto fire on pageload’ option, but when I copy and paste the provided link for the widget into a page, it just acts as thought the script isn’t working and reloads the page with a # at the end of the url?
